Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a percentage raise?
Multiply your current salary by the raise percentage and add it to your salary. A 3% raise on $60,000 is $1,800, for a new salary of $61,800.
How do I find the percent of a raise I was offered?
Subtract your current salary from the new salary, divide by your current salary, and multiply by 100. Going from $50,000 to $55,000 is a 10% raise.
Will I take home the full raise?
No. A raise is taxed, so you keep less than the full increase. Use a state paycheck calculator to compare take-home pay before and after the raise.
How is the hourly figure calculated?
It divides annual pay by 2,080, which is 40 hours a week for 52 weeks.
